Course Description

This TechCast will last 1-hour and the cost for this educational presentation is free thanks to our TechCast partner, Thomson Reuters.

This course gives an overview of current state-of-the-art concepts in practice management from the perspective of greater operational and organizational efficiencies. This will include concepts related to members whose firms who perform financial planning for their clients, as well as inclusion within a firm’s year-end business planning.

During the program, the presenters will detail the challenges faced by accounting firms in today’s marketplace, both from the perspective of public knowledge of a firm’s practice concentrations as well as internal organization barriers that impede a company’s ability to function effectively both internally and externally.

The presenters will then specific practice management principles in the areas of brand identity toward a greater recognition of the firm’s capabilities and tying those capabilities into practice specializations, and assessing factors that impede a firm’s practice management proficiency and recommended techniques and solutions that drive increased efficiencies and workflow processes.

Connie Ledwidge - Connie Ledwidge worked with the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters in Dexter for more than 12 years as an account representative for the inside sales team. Recently, Connie moved to the website sales group after the Thomson Reuters acquisition of Emochila. Through her role with this group, Connie specializes in helping tax and accounting firms create a professionally branded web presence. She also attends various trade shows around the country and helps educate clients through webinars about Thomson Reuters offerings. Connie especially enjoys walking firms through the process of conceiving a website from start to finish. She’s excited to have the opportunity to work with customers all over the globe. Connie is a graduate from the Eastern Michigan University Honors Program with a degree in business.

Candace Cross – Candace is a Senior Sales and Training Consultant with Thomson Reuters. During her 14 years with the company, she has drawn on her experience in public accounting, software development, training/consulting, and product support to help accounting firms evaluate and implement software solutions and strategies to improve their efficiency and workflow processes. Her seminar presentations, firm visits, and Webex demonstrations have helped many accounting firms achieve increased profitability.
