On Monday, the American Women's Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA) of Georgia announced their Legacies, Leaders & Luminaries Celebration Dinner to be held on January 8, 2015 at the National Center for Civil & Human Rights. The AWSCPA will honor Johnnie L. Clark, CPA, MBA, Ph.D. and other rising stars in the profession.

According to the 2013 Accounting Move Project Report, sponsored by the AWSCPA, it was found that 69% of women interviewed identified work/life balance issues as the top barrier to advancement, and another 48% said that women still lack female role models.

"We at the AWSCPA of Georgia know there are many female role models and this event is specifically designed to showcase them," the organization stated in a press release. "Many of these role models both exemplify and champion work/life balance."
