Houston, TX - American Woman’s Society of CPAs (AWSCPA) announces its Board of Directors for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.
This year’s President is Cynthia Cox. Cynthia is the managing partner of Cox and Associates CPAs LLC in Houston, Texas. Cynthia began her firm in 1996 with a desire to help non-profit organizations reach their full potential. Cynthia graduated with honors from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. Cynthia has served as president of the board for the Houston affiliate of AWSCPA and actively serves on other nonprofit boards in Houston.
The Vice President of Programs and Immediate Past President is Christina Flynn. Christina is an audit senior manager with KPMG and is based in the Roseland, NJ office. She provides accounting, audit, and tax services to a diversified group of clients in both the private and public sectors. Christina is a graduate of St. John’s University with a B.S. and M.S. in accounting. Christina has served as president of the New Jersey affiliate of the AWSCPA.
The Secretary is Krista Saul. Krista is the Chief Financial Officer at Advanced Management Concepts in Dayton, Ohio. She serves as a financial advisor to the firm's professional and trade association clients and has a passion for non-profit organizations.
The Treasurer is Belicia Cespedes. Belicia is a CPA and intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting at age 16 and earned her CPA license at 17, making her the youngest voting member of the AICPA. She was recently named to the Top 100 Most Influential People by AccountingToday.
The Vice President of Communications and AICPA Liaison is Kelly Welter. Kelly is a partner at Serl Keefer Welter CPAs, LLP in Las Vegas, NV. The firm specializes in individual and business taxation as well as business consulting. Kelly is a graduate of Oregon State University and Agder Business College in Kristiansand, Norway. Kelly is a past national president of AWSCPA and will serve on the AICPA Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee during this current fiscal year.
The Vice President of Marketing is Wendy Lewis. Wendy is the Chief Financial Officer for Jim R. Smith & Company/SmithCo Development, LLC in Houston, Texas, where she has been employed for over fourteen years. Wendy received a BBA in accounting from the University of Texas San Antonio. Wendy is a past national president of AWSCPA and has served on the AICPA Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee as well as other committees for AICPA and Texas Society of CPAs.
The Vice President of the Past Presidents Council is Amy Knowles-Jones. Amy is the Internal Audit Manager for Flowers Foods, Inc. in Thomasville, Georgia. Flowers Foods is the second largest producer of packaged bakery foods in the United States with sales near $4 billion. Amy graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Amy is a past national president of AWSCPA and has served on the AICPA Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee
The Vice President of Regions is Bonnie Mackey. Bonnie is a partner with Levin, Silvey, Zelko & Mackey, PA. Her experience includes financial statements, tax preparation, and guardianship accounting. Bonnie is a graduate of the University of South Florida and earned an MBA at Devry University. Bonnie has been very involved with the Florida society of CPAs and served on the board of the South Florida affiliate of the AWSCPA.
Janet Goldstein is the President and CFO of Loren Castings, a 60 year old manufacturing company. Janet earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University and her MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
Jacqueline Finn is a fund accountant with Eton Park and served two years as President of the New York Affiliate of AWSCPA. Jacqueline earned two Bachelors of Science degrees in Accountancy and Finance from Villanova University.
